Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year
My name is Kyle Suttles, and I am currently teaching at Grand Island Northwest High School in Alternative Education with the Connections Program. In addition to my role as an educator, I am also involved in some of the schools activities. I am entering my 2nd year as Defensive Coordinator for the Northwest High School Varsity Football team (4th year as an assistant overall). I am entering my 3rd season as an Assistant Coach (2nd as Freshmen Head Coach) for the Northwest Ladies Basketball program. I am still young in my education/prep-coaching career, and my experiences thus far have been a blessing to me. This has fueled my aspirations for a fulfilling future in 'special' education. In my role I am able to utilize my experiences, education and background to grow and develop communities, my family and my school district toward a successful future - based on integrity, strong work ethic and passion.
I was born and raised in Springfield, MA and I am the older of 2 children. My mom, dad, brother and I moved to the Kansas City area just after my high school graduation. They remain there still today. My wife and I live right here in GI, and have since 2007. We moved here from Manhattan, KS where we both went to school (Go Cats!). We have SIX children we are responsible for, from toddler age to college age!! They drive us up the wall, but they also drive us to continue to push towards GREAT in every way we can! It is our goal to strive to do things the HARD way, because the easy route just isn't as fulfilling. That concept is bigger than it appears, if you want to know how... please just ask! I'll be happy to share! I look forward to working with you all.
